NIA Files Chargesheet Against 11 In Punjab Police Station Attack Orchestrated By BKI

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against 11 individuals accused of carrying out a terror attack on a police station in Punjab, orchestrated by the banned Khalistani group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), officials said, reported The Indian Express.
On Saturday (4 October), the agency submitted the chargesheet before a special NIA court in Mohali, Punjab, under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, the Arms Act, and the Explosive Substances Act.
Another 11 accused remain absconding.
The probe revealed that foreign-based handlers of BKI — Harpreet Singh alias Happy Passia, Mannu Agwan, and Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi Navasherian — claimed responsibility for the attack, which targeted the Qila Lal Singh police station in Batala district on 6 April.
The rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) assault, carried out with direct support from these overseas operatives, aimed to “spread terror and promote the agenda of anti-India groups,” the NIA said.
They added these handlers used social media platforms to radicalise and recruit vulnerable youth from Punjab to unleash terrorism against India.
The NIA continues probing to arrest absconders and identify other conspirators involved in the attack.
