Absconding accused in Praveen Nettaru murder case

The National Investigative Agency(NIA) that is probing the Praveen Nettaru murder case issued a lookout notice for four accused who are absconding and announced cash rewards for those providing information about them.

Nettaru murder case which had made national headlines earlier this year was handed over to the NIA by the state police after preliminary investigations and arrest of seven of the ten accused. The NIA having taken over the case had then raided more than 30 locations across coastal Karnataka.

The central agency on 2 November has now announced cash rewards for anyone providing information on four of the key accused belonging to the now banned organisation Popular Front of India, as reported by Asianet Suvarna.

A reward of Rs 2 Lakh each has been announced for those who help find Ummar Farooq and Abubakkar Siddique of Sullya.

Nettaru was a BJYM leader who was hacked to death on 26 July this year. Three men who were riding atop a bike with Kerala registration are said to have attacked Praveen Nettaru as he was closing his chicken stall for the day. While he tried to escape, the assailants followed him and brutally attacked him.
