Uttar Pradesh Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday (23 August) said that the state has uprooted mafia culture and achieved a riot-free image, reported The Times Of India.

Recalling Gorakhpur’s encephalitis crisis, the CM grew emotional.

He said, “In this season, every mother once feared for her child’s life. Four children had to be accommodated on one hospital bed. Today, the medical college's encephalitis ward is air-conditioned and children's future is safe.”

He emphasised that his government treated both the disease and the “sick mindset” of earlier regimes.

Yogi highlighted healthcare reforms, including Ayushman Bharat’s free treatment cover of Rs 5 lakh, CM Relief Fund assistance, and revival of BRD Medical College.

On development, Yogi pointed to the revival of the fertilizer factory, Pipraich sugar mill, and Ayush University.

He noted that industries at GIDA are generating local jobs.

Distributing allotment certificates to LIG and EWS beneficiaries, he stressed that the government has provided 57 lakh homes in eight years.

The CM also highlighted tourism projects like Ramgarh Tal and Chilua Tal, and urged citizens to support PM Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047.
