Communal violence broke out in Haryana's Nuh on Monday, spreading to Gurgaon on Tuesday and resulting in the deaths of at least six people.

In response, the Nuh police have arrested 116 individuals and filed 44 FIRs.

To prevent any further incidents, 14 police companies have been deployed on the ground, and educational institutions will remain closed until further notice.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has vowed to take strict action against those responsible for the violence. He stated that six individuals, including two home guards and four civilians, lost their lives in the incident.

Gurgaon's Assistant Commissioner of Police (crime), Varun Dahiya, reported that schools, colleges, and offices in the district are functioning as usual.

While Internet services are operational, Dahiya urged people to avoid spreading rumours on social media and instead use the police helpline number '112' to provide any relevant information.

In separate incidents, a mosque was set on fire and the naib imam was fatally stabbed by a mob in Gurgaon. Additionally, shops in the Badshahpur area were set ablaze in the afternoon.
