Afghan Vice-President Amrullah Saleh on Friday (13 August) lambasted Pakistan for its support to the Taliban as the terror outfit continues to seize new territories in the war-torn country.
"Truth can't be hidden or faked for long. It comes out and hits back at the liar and the deceiver," Amrullah said in a tweet, referring to an interview by former CIA director and ex-commander of US forces in Afghanistan General David Petraeus to Turkish state-owned broadcaster TRT world, in which he blamed Pakistan for the Afghan situation.
"Pakistan can't hide anymore. They are in the war and on the side of the terrorist Taliban," said Saleh.
Saleh, who also served as the director of the Afghan intelligence agency National Directorate of Security (NDS) from 2004 to 2010, is a vocal critic of the Pakistan Army and ISI's interference in Afghanistan's internal affairs by supporting and sheltering Taliban terrorists.
Taliban have already taken control of at least 14 of country’s 34 provincial capitals in a week.
