Pakistan reportedly attempted to obstruct the Indian all-party delegation's Malaysia visit, citing Islamic solidarity, but Kuala Lumpur declined Islamabad's interference.
The Pakistan embassy requested Malaysian authorities to scrap the Indian delegation's programmes, but this did not work and the delegation received full support, NDTV reported citing sources.
All scheduled event of the Indian delegation went ahead without disruption—marking a significant diplomatic setback for Islamabad.
The Indian delegation, led by JDU MP Sanjay Jha, included MPs from BJP—Aparajita Sarangi, Brij Lal, Pradan Baruah, Hemang Joshi; Trinamool’s Abhishek Banerjee; CPM’s John Brittas; Congress’s Salman Khurshid; and ex-diplomat Mohan Kumar.
The Jha-led delegation also visited Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, and Singapore as part of India's global diplomatic outreach.
The delegation was one of the seven delegations that travelled abroad to expose Pakistan's role in terror attacks on Indian soil and articulate the Indian position after the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 innocents and Operation Sindoor, India's counterstrike on terror infrastructure in Pakistan.
The Jha-led delegation returned to India on Wednesday (4 June).
