A powerful car bomb detonated outside the Frontier Constabulary headquarters in Quetta on Tuesday (30 September), killing at least 10 people and injuring 30, police and officials said.

Police reported that six militants exited a vehicle and engaged paramilitary forces in a fierce gunfight before detonating the car. All the attackers have been killed, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirmed, reported Hindustan Times.

Ambulances rushed to the scene immediately, transporting the wounded to nearby hospitals. The blast echoed across the city, shattering windows and damaging nearby buildings and vehicles.

Visuals captured a car stopping in front of the compound before the explosion, followed by gunfire and chaos.

No group has claimed responsibility yet, though authorities suspect separatist militants operating in insurgency-hit Balochistan. Provincial Health Minister Bakhat Kakar warned the death toll could rise.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti said, “Terrorists cannot break the nation’s resolve through cowardly acts, and the sacrifices of our people and security forces will not go in vain.”

This attack comes weeks after a suicide bombing outside a stadium near Quetta killed at least 13 people and injured 30 as supporters of a nationalist party left a rally.
