Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has once again summoned former prime minister Imran Khan in connection with the investigation into Al-Qadir Trust case for which he was previously arrested.

The Islamabad High Court and the Pakistan Supreme Court had provided blanket relief to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and granted bail.

Further, speaking to media, Khan has accused the intelligence agencies for the arson and violence that followed last week after his arrest.

The statement was relayed by John Kirby, Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the National Security Council in the White House.

Pakistan had been engulfed in widespread violence, arson, and targeted attacks at military establishments over the last week after Khan’s arrest had sparked violent backlash from his party and supporters across the country.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had termed the incidents of 9 May and the violence that followed as the “darkest chapter" in the country’s history.
