Pakistan: 'Unknown Gunmen' Strike Again, Kill Another Lashkar-e-Taiba Commander
- The elimination of a key LeT leader disrupts long-standing terror networks targeting India.
LeT senior commander Abu Saiullah was shot dead in Pakistan's Sindh.
In a major blow to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), senior commander Razaullah Nizamani alias Abu Saiullah was shot dead by 'unidentified gunmen' in Pakistan's Sindh province on Saturday (18 May).
Security sources confirmed his identity, stating he led LeT's Nepal module and was a key figure in cross-border terror operations targeting India.
Saiullah was wanted for orchestrating several high-profile attacks, including the 2001 assault on a CRPF camp in Rampur, the 2005 attack on the Indian Science Congress in Bengaluru, and the 2006 attempted bombing near the RSS headquarters in Nagpur.
His killing follows the recent elimination of another top LeT operative, Abu Qatal Sindhi, a close aide of LeT chief Hafiz Saeed. Qatal, the so-called commander of the Khureta launch pad in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s Kotli district, was reportedly responsible for recent terror attacks in the Rajouri-Poonch sector.
Sources say he directly led the infiltration of LeT terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir and had operated in the region in the early 2000s before returning to Pakistan.
The back-to-back eliminations mark a major setback for LeT’s operations and infiltration machinery. Many such killings of terrorists by unknown gunmen has been reported in Pakistan over the last few months.
