Panic In Pakistan's Lahore Amid Series Of Loud Explosions, Flight Operations Suspended: Report

A series of loud explosions rocked Lahore on Thursday (8 May), triggering panic in the city and forcing the suspension of flight operations at major airports, including Lahore, Sialkot, and Karachi, Reuters and local media reported.
The explosions were reportedly heard near Walton Airport, a key area near Lahore's army cantonment, sending locals fleeing into the streets as thick smoke shrouded the region.
The explosions occurred in Gopal Nagar and Naseerabad, areas that lie close to key military zones.
Similar explosions were reported in several cities and towns of Pakistan on Thursday, including Rawalpindi, the garrison town near the capital Islamabad that hosts Pakistan's military headquarters.
The explosions were heard in or near the cities of Rawalpindi, Karachi and Lahore, as well as Gujranwala, Sialkot, Sheikhupura, Narwal, Kasur, and Bahawalnagar.
The incident comes just a day after India's Operation Sindoor, which targeted terror camps in Pakistan and PoK, raising concerns about similar possible actions in Pakistan.
Social media videos showed people running out of their homes in panic, with authorities on high alert.
The blasts coincided with growing tension following India’s precision strikes, which killed more than 70 terrorists linked to terrorist outfits like Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
