The six accused in the Parliament security breach case are set to undergo psychoanalysis tests.

These crucial evaluations of their behaviour could assist investigators in determining their intentions and motives related to the smoke scare incident.

Yesterday (21 December), one out of the six suspects was taken to the forensic science laboratory for testing. The remaining five will sequentially undergo the same procedure.

Psychoanalysis refers to the psychological evaluation conducted on undertrials to comprehend their habits, routines, and behaviour.

Psychiatrists administer the tests in a question-answer format. Through the responses provided by the accused, they, along with investigators, attempt to understand the intent behind the crime committed.

The examination, which lasts approximately three hours, is carried out at the forensic lab of the Central Bureau of Investigation and FSL Rohini.

So far, six people have been apprehended in relation to the incident of smoke scare in the Parliament last week.

The accused have told police that their aim was to draw attention to the turmoil in Manipur, joblessness, and agricultural concerns.

Nonetheless, the police have stated that they are examining every possible angle.

The main four accused arrested from the parliament complex on December 13 were remanded to another 15 days' police custody yesterday. The alleged mastermind had surrendered a day later.

The arrested accused include Manoranjan and Sagar Sharma, who trespassed into the Lok Sabha, Amol Shinde and Neelam Azad, who used smoke canisters outside parliament, Lalit Jha, believed to be a mastermind of the security breach, and Mahesh Kumawat, who allegedly helped Jha.

Saikrishna Jagali, a technology professional and the son of a retired police officer, was taken into custody in Karnataka on Wednesday. He is a friend of Manoranjan and was named by him during the interrogation.
