Prime Minister Narendra Modi with US President Donald Trump
With Donald Trump inching towards a victory against Kamala Harris, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday (6 November) congratulated the former US President.
PM Modi said that he looked forward to "renewing" the collaboration to strengthen the ties between the two nations.
"Heartiest congratulations my friend @realDonaldTrump on your historic election victory. As you build on the successes of your previous term, I look forward to renewing our collaboration to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership," PM Modi said in a post on X.
"Together, let’s work for the betterment of our people and to promote global peace, stability and prosperity," he added.
US House of Representative Speaker has announced that Donald Trump is now the President-elect.
"Donald Trump is now our President-elect, chosen by the American people for such a time as this. The citizens of our great country used their voices to decisively reject four more years of Harris’ open borders, high crime, increased cost of living, weaponized government, dangerous radical woke ideology, and weakness on the world stage - demanding instead, a return to common sense, peace, and prosperity," Johnson said.
Meanwhile, Trump himself addressed a large gathering at West Palm Beach in Florida and said, “I want to thank the American people for the extraordinary honour of being elected your 47th president, and your 45th president… I will be fighting for you with every breath in my body. I will not rest until we have delivered the strong, safe and prosperous America that our children deserve and that you deserve.”
