PM Modi Pays Tributes To RSS Stalwarts Keshav Hedgewar, M S Golwalkar In Nagpur
PM Modi paying tribute to RSS founder Dr Keshav B Hedgewar
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (30 March) visited Dr Hedgewar Smruti Mandir in Nagpur, Maharashtra.
At Smruti Mandir, the Prime Minister paid tributes at memorials dedicated to Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the founder of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), and M S Golwalkar, the second sarsanghchalak (chief).
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was present during PM Modi's visit to the Smruti Mandir in Reshimbagh, the administrative headquarters of the RSS.
PM Modi's visit coincides with the Sangh's Pratipada programme, marking the beginning of the Hindu New Year.
He also visited Deekshabhoomi and pay homage to Dr B R Ambedkar where he embraced Buddhism along with thousands of his followers in 1956.
The Prime Minister is also set to lay the foundation for the Madhav Netralaya Premium Centre in Nagpur. This new facility will expand the existing eye care institute with a 250-bed hospital, 14 outpatient departments, and 14 modular operation theatres.
Later, at 12.30 pm, he will visit the Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited’s ammunition facility in Nagpur and inaugurate the newly built 1,250 m long and 25 m wide airstrip for Unarmed Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and the live munition and warhead testing facility to test the loitering Munition and other guided munitions.
