PM Modi Receives Invitation From Trump, Egypt's Sisi For Gaza Peace Summit In Sharm-el Sheikh: Report

Prime Minister Narendra Modi received an invitation from US President Donald Trump and Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to attend the “peace summit” in Sharm-el Sheikh on Monday (13 October), reported The Indian Express.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has not yet confirmed whether PM Modi will participate in the international gathering, which aims to end the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
The Egyptian Presidency’s spokesperson said the summit, chaired jointly by Trump and al-Sisi, will bring together leaders from more than 20 countries.
“The summit aims to end the war in the Gaza Strip, strengthen efforts to establish peace and stability in the Middle East, and open a new page of regional security and stability,” the statement said.
The spokesperson added, “This summit comes in light of US President Donald Trump’s vision to achieve peace in the region, and his relentless quest to end conflicts around the world.”
If PM Modi attends, it would offer an opportunity to meet Trump directly, showcase India’s support for the Palestinian cause, and signal commitment to regional peace.
His presence could also strengthen bilateral ties with Egypt and highlight India’s engagement in Middle East diplomacy.
Recently, US Ambassador-designate Sergio Gor visited New Delhi and met PM Modi on Saturday, describing his visit in warm and effusive terms.
