PM Narendra Modi releasing commemorative postal stamps dedicated to Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (18 January) released six Commemorative Postage Stamps dedicated to Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir. An album containing stamps related to Lord Ram, which were issued earlier by various countries of the world was also released.
Modi called postal stamps a medium of conveying ideas, history and historical events to the next generation. "This ticket is neither just a piece of paper, nor just an artwork, it's a miniature form of big ideas," the PM said.
Modi highlighted that these tickets contain a grand image of Ram Mandir, emotions of Ram bhakti (devotion), surya (Sun), holy river Sarayu and the internal architectural beauty of the temple.
The PM said, "It will be very interesting to see how many countries have been issuing postal stamps based on Lord Ram. America, Australia, Cambodia, Canada, Czech Republic, Fiji, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Thailand and Guyana have released such stamps."
"Ram is a great ideal even outside India. All world civilisations have deep impressions of Lord Ram and Ramayan. In modern times also, many nations have praised Lord Ram. This album will take you to a tour," Modi added.
