Prime Minister Narendra Modi will serve as the Chief Guest at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) centenary celebrations on 1 October at the Dr Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi, The Times of India reported.

The event is scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM.

On the occasion, PM Modi will release a specially designed commemorative postage stamp and coin, marking 100 years of the RSS’s contributions to the nation.

He will also address a gathering of dignitaries, volunteers, and Sangh members.

Founded in 1925 in Nagpur, Maharashtra, by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar (Doctorji), the RSS started as a volunteer-based organisation aimed at promoting cultural awareness, discipline, service, and social responsibility.

Over the decades, it has evolved into a nationwide movement dedicated to national reconstruction, guided by the principles of Dharma and patriotism.

The centenary celebrations will honour the RSS’ historical achievements while showcasing its ongoing contributions to India’s cultural and social journey, emphasising national unity.

The event will include cultural programmes, exhibitions, and speeches reflecting the Sangh’s legacy and its work in education, social service, and community development.

Over a century, the RSS has expanded from a small volunteer organisation to a widespread movement influencing multiple spheres of public life, with its focus on discipline, service, and national pride continuing to guide its initiatives across India.
