Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Kanpur on 24 April to inaugurate a series of projects aimed at boosting the region’s power infrastructure and urban mobility.
TOI reported, the visit will see the launch of the Panki Power Plant, Neyveli Power Ghatampur project, and the second phase of the city’s Metro system.
The Panki Power Plant, a cutting-edge thermal facility, is set to substantially enhance local electricity generation. Likewise, the Neyveli Power Ghatampur project will help meet Uttar Pradesh’s growing energy demands.
The Metro Phase-II expansion is expected to significantly improve public transport and urban connectivity across Kanpur. According to the report, the Prime Minister might also launch the Bilhaur solar power plant.
A large public gathering will be held at the Railway Ground in Nirala Nagar, with thousands anticipated to attend.
Multiple entry and exit points are being arranged, alongside drinking water stations and emergency medical services.
Local police are conducting intensive security drills, and comprehensive traffic plans are being developed to manage the anticipated congestion.
BJP workers have launched grassroots mobilisation efforts, going door-to-door to raise awareness about the Prime Minister’s programme.
To ensure smooth operations, the district administration has constituted various committees focusing on crowd control, parking, and emergency response.
