PM Modi To Inaugurate Projects Worth Rs 1.64 Lakh Crore On 2 March, Big Boost For Petroleum Sector: Here's All About It

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to dedicate and lay the foundation stone for projects totaling Rs 1.64 lakh crore, according to government officials as reported by Moneycontrol.

These projects span various sectors including petroleum, natural gas, railways, and fertilisers.

In the petroleum sector, 39 projects amounting to Rs 1.49 lakh crore will either be inaugurated or have their foundation stones laid.

Of these, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate 29 projects with a combined investment of Rs 80,000 crore, and lay the foundation stone for 10 projects with an outlay exceeding Rs 60,000 crore.

A senior government official highlighted that these projects are poised to revolutionise the petroleum industry by accelerating infrastructure advancements, boosting production capacities, and enhancing energy distribution networks.


The Prime Minister will also dedicate the 'First Oil' from the KG Basin, and will flag off the first crude oil tanker from the ONGC Krishna Godavari deepwater project to MRPL Mangalore, Karnataka.

In Bihar, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited plant at Barauni, with an investment of Rs 7,042 crore.

Furthermore, significant railway enhancements, with projects worth Rs 4,742 crore, will also improve connectivity and infrastructure in the state.

Prime Minister Modi will also flag off six trains and inaugurate the Narkatiaganj-Gaunaha gauge conversion, among other railway projects in Bihar.
