PM Modi To Launch Development Projects Worth Over Rs 70,000 Crore In UP, Bihar, West Bengal And Sikkim

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh on 29 and 30 May, where he will launch multiple development projects worth more than Rs 70,000 crore, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The visit will begin in Sikkim on 29 May with the “Sikkim@50” programme marking 50 years of the state’s accession to India.

PM Modi will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate key projects including a Rs 750 crore 500-bedded district hospital in Namchi, a ropeway at Sangachoeling, and a statue of Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Gangtok.

He will also release a commemorative coin, souvenir coin, and postal stamp.

Later in the day, he will reach Alipurduar in West Bengal to lay the foundation stone of a Rs 1,010 crore City Gas Distribution (CGD) project for Alipurduar and Cooch Behar.

The initiative will benefit over 2.5 lakh households and promote cleaner fuel usage.

In Bihar, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Rs 1,200 crore new passenger terminal at Patna Airport and lay the foundation for a Rs 1,410 crore civil enclave at Bihta Airport.

A major highlight is the Rs 29,930 crore Stage-II of the Nabinagar Super Thermal Power Project in Aurangabad.

He will also launch multiple highway projects, and dedicate a third rail line between Son Nagar and Mohammad Ganj worth Rs 1,330 crore.

In Uttar Pradesh, PM Modi will visit Kanpur Nagar to launch projects worth Rs 20,900 crore.

He will inaugurate the Rs 2,120 crore Chunniganj to Kanpur Central Metro section and the Rs 8,300 crore Panki Thermal Power Extension Project.

Additionally, he will inaugurate Rs 9,330 crore worth of units under the Ghatampur Thermal Power Project.

He will also launch substations, sewage treatment infrastructure, and new roads under the Defence Corridor project. During the event, he will distribute certificates and cheques under key welfare schemes.
