PM Modi Warns Of Conspiracy To Alter India’s Demography, Announces High-Powered Mission To Protect National Security And Unity

Expressing concern over demographic changes in parts of the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday (15 August) announced the launch of a high-powered demographic mission.

"Today, I want to alert the nation about a concern, a challenge. Under a deliberate and well-planned conspiracy, the country’s demography is being changed, and seeds of a new crisis are being sown," PM Modi said during his Independence Address.

"These infiltrators are snatching away the livelihoods of my country’s youth. These infiltrators are targeting our sisters and daughters—this will not be tolerated. These infiltrators are misleading innocent tribal people and seizing their lands—the nation will not accept this," he said.

"Our ancestors won freedom through sacrifice and struggle, and they gave us an independent India. It is our duty towards those great men not to accept such activities in our country. That will be the true tribute to them," he said.

"And so, from the ramparts of the Red Fort, I want to announce that we have decided to launch a high-powered Demography Mission. Through this mission, the grave crisis that we can see looming over India will be dealt with in a planned and determined manner, within a fixed timeframe. We are moving forward in that direction," he said.
