Prayagraj Maha Kumbh Mela: PM Modi Takes Holy Dip At Sangam, Calls It a ‘Moment Of Divine Connection’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a ‘holy dip’ at the Sangam, the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the Saraswati rivers in Prayagraj, where the Maha Kumbh is underway.

Dressed in a saffron jacket and blue trackpants, with rudraksha beads in hand, Modi performed prayers before immersing himself in the river, PTI reported.

After his ritual bath, Modi expressed his gratitude, saying, "The 'snan', or the 'holy dip', at the 'sangam' is a moment of divine connection. May Maa Ganga bless all with peace, wisdom, good health, and harmony."

Visuals from Prayagraj showed vast crowds gathered along the riverbanks, eager to witness the Prime Minister's spiritual observance.

Earlier in the day, Modi took a boat tour of the Sangam with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Before heading to Prayagraj, Modi urged Delhi voters to participate in the polls, posting, "I urge the voters here to participate in this festival of democracy with full enthusiasm and cast their valuable vote."

Last week, Home Minister Amit Shah and his family also took a holy dip at the Kumbh.

Bhutan’s King Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuk also visited Prayagraj this week, accompanied by Adityanath, and engaged in spiritual activities at the Lete Hanuman Mandir.
