'Lord Has Made Me An Instrument': PM Modi Begins 11-Day Special Ritual Ahead Of Ram Temple Consecration Ceremony

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday (12 January) announced that he has begun a 11-day long 'vishesh anusthan' (special ritual) ahead of the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony in Ayodhya on 22 January.

In an audio message posted on his official YouTube channel, PM Modi said he was fortunate to be a witness to what he described as a "historic" and "auspicious" occasion.

"Only 11 days are left for the consecration of Ramlala in Ayodhya. I am fortunate that I will also be a witness to this auspicious occasion," PM Modi said.

"The Lord has made me an instrument to represent all the people of India during the consecration. Keeping this in mind, I am starting a special ritual of 11 days from today (12 January)," he added.

He noted that it was difficult to articulate one's sentiments at this time, but said he was making an attempt. "I am emotional. For the first time in my life, I am experiencing such feelings," he said.

"Some moments of life turn into reality only because of divine blessings. It is such a sacred occasion for all of us today and for the devotees of Ram spread all over the world. There is a wonderful atmosphere of devotion to Lord Ram everywhere," PM Modi added.

Prime Minister will be following the arduous rules detailed in scriptures related to the 'pran pratishtha' ceremony.
