In a recent interview with ANI, Uttar Pradesh BJP MLA Aditi Singh made startling allegations against Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, claiming that the Congress leader had urged her former husband to speak ill of her character in exchange for an election ticket.
Singh, a two-time MLA from Raebareli Sadar, had switched allegiance from the Congress to the BJP in 2021, just before the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections in 2022.
Revealing details about her personal life, Singh disclosed that she had divorced her husband, Punjab Congress MLA Angad Singh Saini.
During the interview, Singh recounted an alleged conversation between Priyanka Gandhi and her ex-husband, stating, "What happened towards the end, during ticket distribution, Priyanka Gandhi says to my husband 'You talk smack about her'."
"I did eventually meet Rahul Gandhi. He was completely clueless. (He asked) How many MLAs do we have in UP now? I was like, sir, seven...and he threw his head back and laughed," she recounted.
Singh's revelations come at a crucial juncture, just ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
The Election Commission has announced that the polls will be conducted across the nation in seven phases, with results to be declared on 4 June.
