Rahul Gandhi with Kanhaiya Kumar in Bihar
In his third visit to Bihar in 2025, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi participated in the 'Palayan Roko, Naukri Do' (stop migration, provide jobs) march in Begusarai on Monday (7 April).
During his 1-km-long foot march, he was joined by NSUI national In-charge Kanhaiya Kumar and other high-ranking leaders from the Congress party The New Indian Express reported.
Kanhaiya, who is expected to run for a seat in the upcoming state assembly elections, hails from Begusarai and has also lost the Lok Sabha election from there in 2019.
A large gathering of Congress workers, adorned in white T-shirts and waving party flags, congregated near Subhash Chowk in the town of Begusarai to welcome Gandhi.
Despite having a planned corner meeting in Begusarai on his agenda, Rahul opted to go back to Patna for a different engagement. He is set to participate in the 'Samvidhan Suraksha Sammelan', followed by speaking at the workers' gathering at Sadaquat Ashram in the state's capital.
Previously, Shakeel Ahmad Khan, a leader of Congress, announced that Rahul Gandhi would be visiting Bihar with the aim of honoring his pledge towards social unity and justice.
“People are happy. Rahul Gandhi is visiting the state frequently to fulfil his commitment of social unity and social justice,” he asserted. He also urged citizens to vote out the 'unseeing' and 'unhearing' NDA government in the polls.
Gandhi made his arrival in Begusarai earlier in the day, having traveled from Patna. He was welcomed at the Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport by Rajesh Kumar along with other high-ranking party leaders.
