Nearly a month after the election results were declared, the swearing-in ceremony of the Rajasthan state cabinet took place on Saturday (30 December) at the Raj Bhavan.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, who met Governor Kalraj Mishra earlier in the day, sought approval for the council's expansion, marking a crucial step in the state's governance.

The ceremony saw several prominent figures taking oath as ministers, adding strength and diversity to the state cabinet.

Among those who were sworn in are Kanhaiya Lal Choudhary, Hemant Meena, Joraram Kumawat, Avinash Gehlot, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Gajendra Singh Khimsar, and Kirodi Lal Meena.

The expansion of the council comes after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a notable victory in the Rajasthan assembly election, winning 115 of the 199 seats on which polling was held.

As the state cabinet takes shape, the focus is on addressing various aspects, including regional dynamics and equitable representation, keeping in mind the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The expansion aims to ensure comprehensive inclusion of major castes and regions, fostering a well-rounded and representative administration in Rajasthan.
