Political friction has surfaced in Rajasthan over administrative postings as tensions ease along the India-Pakistan border following Operation Sindoor.

According to the Indian Express, the Congress has accused the BJP-led state government of selectively transferring officials linked to the Congress to sensitive border districts.

State Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra alleged that the Bhajan Lal Sharma-led BJP government showed bias in selecting officials deployed in areas along the International Border.

“They have sifted through the lists, and with instructions from BJP MLAs, posted people who are associated with the Congress on the border,” Dotasra told reporters.

“If Dotasra is saying so, it proves that they have politicised government employees and bureaucrats. Secondly, in the BJP government, no government employee or bureaucrat is transferred on the basis of ideology. Dotasra wants to stay in the headlines, hence he keeps making such false statements,” Bhardwaj added.

Dotasra cited the example of a woman veterinary doctor, claiming she was transferred away from her children because of her Congress background.

He also questioned delays in appointments, saying several doctors in the Health Department had been awaiting postings for over six months. He said that the Congress was not opposed to posting officials at the border, noting that their people were willing to serve—even in the Army—but alleged that politics had crept into the process as well.

Dotasra, while urging the BJP government to “fix its mindset,” stated, “The Congress does not object to appointments, but the intention behind them must be fair.”
