Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma green flagged 128 new blue line buses of the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) on Sunday (5 October), marking a major expansion in the state’s public transport network.

The new blue line buses have been distributed among 23 depots across Rajasthan, with the initiative primarily aimed at strengthening connectivity between Jaipur and rural regions.

The launch coincided with the introduction of the “Apni Bus–Rajasthan Roadways” rural transport service and in-seat catering facilities in Volvo, Scania, and AC buses.

The “Apni Bus–Rajasthan Roadways” service will operate on 357 routes under a revenue-sharing model, designed to improve last-mile connectivity and ensure affordable transport for rural commuters, according to the official statement.

Each bus under this service features deluxe seating, and passengers will continue to enjoy government concessions and free travel benefits available under the existing Rajasthan Roadways scheme.

The state government has introduced onboard catering services in Volvo, Scania, and AC buses, enabling passengers to receive meals at their seats with menus tailored for morning, afternoon, and evening journeys.

At the launch event, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma inspected the newly introduced buses and reviewed the facilities being implemented by RSRTC.
