Swarajya recently reported about an alleged gangrape case from Rajasthan where the arrests happened only after the survivor’s mother raised slogans at a senior Congress leader’s political rally.

The case happened in the survivor’s village, Badipur, located in Jurhera area of Bharatpur district of Rajasthan. The survivor, a minor, studies in a school in adjoining Mathura district that falls under Uttar Pradesh.

Swarajya highlighted in the report that the girl was being unable to secure admission in Class 11 as she had missed the dates for filing the necessary paperwork due to the police case.

This correspondent posted a video of the girl’s father appealing to UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to get his daughter admission into the school from where she cleared her class 10. The father, Ramdayal Sharma, said that he was happy with the facilities and security at the school.

Ramdayal Sharma told this correspondent over the phone on 10 March that he had been called to Mathura by the administration for paperwork. The next day, he informed that the girl has secured admission into the school. An official from education department even gave Rs 2000 to the girl to buy books from his own pocket, he said.
