Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla, has set an impressive benchmark for operational efficiency in December 2024 by achieving record-breaking milestones in vessel handling, cargo traffic, rice handling, and exports.
These achievements underscore the port's vital role in India’s maritime and trade sectors while reflecting its relentless pursuit of excellence.
Record-Breaking Vessel Handling
DPA achieved an all-time high by handling 354 vessels in December 2024, surpassing its previous record of 327 vessels set in October 2024.
Unprecedented Cargo Traffic Volumes
In December, the port handled a remarkable 13.03 million metric tons (MMT) of cargo, breaking its earlier record of 12.90 MMT achieved in March 2024.
Record Rice Handling
This achievement surpassed the previous record of 3,43,906 tons handled in November 2024, showcasing the port's expanding role in supporting India's agricultural exports.
Highest Export Volumes
The port achieved another milestone by exporting 35,86,709 tons of cargo in December 2024, surpassing the earlier record of 33,48,891 tons set in April 2022.
Leadership and Acknowledgment
Shri Sushil Kumar Singh, IRSME, Chairman of DPA, lauded the collective efforts of all stakeholders, including port users, trade unions, officials, employees, and workers.
He emphasised that these achievements exemplify the teamwork and dedication of everyone involved.
