Mukesh Ambani met Donald Trump in Doha
Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani met with US President Donald Trump at the Lusail Palace in Doha, Qatar, on Wednesday (14 May), Money Control reported.
The meeting took place during a state dinner hosted by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani for President Trump.
According to reports, no formal business or investment discussions were scheduled for the event, which was primarily a diplomatic and ceremonial affair.
The meeting highlights the ongoing efforts by Reliance to foster relationships with key global leaders and maintain strong international partnerships.
This marks Ambani’s second meeting with Trump since the US President’s inauguration in January.
The event was attended by several high-profile guests and underscored Ambani’s growing international presence, as well as Reliance’s expanding global influence.
The gathering follows the Emir of Qatar’s visit to India in February, during which Qatar pledged to invest $10 billion across various Indian industries.
Last year, Reliance obtained waivers from the US to resume crude oil imports from Venezuela. However, it was forced to halt those imports in March after the Trump administration revised tariffs on countries purchasing Venezuelan oil.
At the same time, Reliance exports refined fuels like gasoline, produced from crude oil sourced from countries such as Russia, to the US market.
Additionally, US tech giants, including Google and Meta, have acquired equity stakes in Mukesh Ambani's digital venture.
