Repeatedly Molested Me In Church: Minor Girl Raped And Impregnated By Delhi Government Official Premoday Khakha, Tells Police

In the sensational case reported from New Delhi where a Delhi government official has been arrested for impregnating the minor daughter of his friend, the child survivor has revealed that he repeatedly molested her in a church she visited.
As per the 17-year-old girl’s statement to police, Premoday Khakha, who is 51, molested her whenever he saw her at Amazing Grace Church located in Burari from February 2021 onwards. This was after he allegedly raped her between October 2020 and January 2021 and impregnated her.
The girl told the police her pregnancy was terminated by Khakha and his wife the same month. In February 2021, the girl returned to her mother’s house saying she did not want to live with the Khakhas. However, she did not reveal anything about the rape and the pregnancy.
The girl further told the police that due to Khakha’s sexual assaults, she stopped visiting the church from July 2021 onwards.
The girl reportedly shifted to Burari with Khakha and his family in September 2020 after death of her father.
Khakha’s children, a boy and a girl, are 21 and 22 years of age.
As per reports, the church was founded in 1992 by a pastor named Ajit Kumar Horo. It currently functions as a two-storey building in Himgiri Enclave Residential Society in Burari. It was at this church that the Khakha's and the girl's family met two decades ago and eventually became friends.
Khakha, who hails from Jharkhand, was made Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in March 2022 in the Department of Women and Child Development of the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government. He was removed from the post when Atishi Marlena took over this ministry in March 2023.
During the duration of the alleged incident, he served as assistant director and deputy director in the department. He was suspended on Monday (21 August).
He and his wife have been booked for various offences related to the alleged crime including Protection of Children From Sexual Offences (POCSO).
