Telangana CM Revanth Reddy.
The Telangana cabinet, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, has made significant decisions including changing the state's official abbreviation and adopting a new state anthem.
The state will now be abbreviated as TG instead of TS, with the new anthem being Andre Sri's 'Jaya Jaya Ho Telangana', according to a report from NDTV.
The decision to change the abbreviation from TS, adopted by the previous regime, aims to distance itself from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), now known as Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
In addition to these changes, the cabinet has decided to conduct a caste census in the state, fulfilling a promise made by the Congress. Chief Minister Reddy had announced the initiation of a caste census last month.
During the budget session, the government plans to implement gas and power guarantees, with the Chief Minister making announcements in the assembly.
Chief Minister Reddy has pledged to fulfil all six election guarantees within the first 100 days of assuming power.
In a bold move, Chief Minister Reddy has challenged his predecessor K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), KCR's son KT Rama Rao (KTR), and nephew Harish Rao to a debate on irrigation projects on the assembly floor, a challenge accepted by BRS.
The ongoing war of words between Congress and BRS involves accusations of letting down the interests of the state and farmers from both sides.
