RG Kar Rape-Murder Case: Former Principal Gives 'Deceptive' Responses In CBI's Polygraph Test, Was Reluctant To File FIR

The responses of the former principal of the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital Dr Sandip Ghosh were found to be 'deceptive' in the polygraph test done by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The forensic report indicated that Ghosh intentionally attempted to mislead CBI investigators in relation to the rape and murder case of the 31-year-old trainee doctor.

The remand note from the federal investigative agency, obtained by India Today, revealed that Ghosh was reluctant to file a First Information Report (FIR) in the horrific case.

This development came two days after Ghosh, along with senior police officer Abhijit Mondal, was arrested by the CBI for delaying the FIR and mishandling evidence in the case.

The report also indicated that Ghosh, despite consulting with a lawyer, had no intention of filing an FIR in the case. He also downplayed the rape and the hospital administration tried to call the murder a suicide.

According to the CBI remand note, Ghosh was in contact with Mondal starting at 10:03 am on 9 August, the day the trainee doctor's semi-naked body was discovered in the seminar hall.

Meanwhile, Mondal is accused of delay in the filing of the FIR to protect accused Sanjay Roy, who used to work with police. He also failed to protect the crime scene compromising the evidence.
