RSS Steps In To Bridge Divide Between Yogi Adityanath And UP Deputy CM Maurya; VHP Also Meets BJP Leaders: Report

To resolve growing differences between Uttar Pradesh (UP) Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his Deputy Keshav Prasad Maurya, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has stepped in.

As per Deccan Herald sources, a senior RSS leader from east UP met Maurya a couple of days ago and assured him of taking up the issues the Deputy CM raised by him at the state BJP executive committee meeting last week. 

The RSS leader also requested Maurya not to air his grievances on public forums. A similar attempt was made by a Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader, who also met senior BJP leaders to sort the issue.

The rift between the two leaders came out in the open when Maurya said, "Sangathan sarkar se bada hai (The organisation is bigger than the government)," at a key UP BJP meet on 14 July.

This was seen as a veiled attack against Adityanath. Maurya has even questioned the reservation policy for contract employees of the UP government, a department under Adityanath.

The Deputy CM has also been meeting leaders known to hold grudges against Adityanath and BJP's dissatisfied allies like NISHAD party's Sanjay Nishad and SBSP's Om Prakash Rajbhar.
