Russian fifth-generation stealth fighter aircraft Sukhoi Su-57E has landed in Bengaluru ahead of Aero India 2025, marking the debut of the Russian combat jet at the event.

The fifteenth edition of Asia’s largest aerospace exhibition, Aero India 2025, is set to take place from 10 to 14 February at the Air Force Station in Yelahanka in Karnataka's Bengaluru.

The Russian fighter jet's participation at the air show gains significance amid reports that the United States has cancelled the planned demonstration flights of its F-35A stealth fighter and the upgraded F-16 fighter aircraft at the event.

Meanwhile, Russia has proposed joint production of the Su-57 fifth-generation fighter jet with India, along with the supply of assembled aircraft and assistance in developing an indigenous fifth-generation fighter, Sputnik India reported.

Russian state arms exporter Rosoboronexport's Director General Alexander Mikheev stated that India has been offered a comprehensive partnership under the Su-57E project, which includes local manufacturing capabilities.

"Our proposals include the supply of assembled aircraft, the organisation of their joint production in India, and assistance in developing an Indian fifth-generation fighter," Mikheev was quoted as saying by Sputnik India.
