Sticking to the deadline given by the Supreme Court, the State Bank of India (SBI) on Thursday (21 March) submitted all details related to the electoral bonds to the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The affidavit filed by the SBI chairman mentioned that all details in "possession and custody" of SBI have been given to the ECI. This includes details of the purchaser and details of redemption by political parties.
Serial number, URN number, journal date, date of purchase, bond number, status, date of expiry, name, prefix, bond number, denomination, issue branch code, issue teller and status are the disclosed details of purchaser.
Similarly, serial number, date of encashment, name of political party, last four digits of account number, prefix, bond number, denomination, pay branch code and pay teller are included in redemption details.
However, the SBI did not disclose the KYC details of political parties and bond purchasers citing security reasons. It said that this will not hinder identifying the political parties, Indian Express reported.
The denomination and specific number of the bond, last four digits of the bank account number of political parties and the denomination and number of the bond encashed were also disclosed.
The Supreme Court also asked the ECI to upload the details forthwith after receiving the information from the SBI in its order after SBI stated that there is no reservation in disclosing all details.
