On Thursday (4 January), India expressed its support for Iran, which has suffered the loss of over 100 lives due to two bombings in the southeastern city of Kerman.

Newly-appointed spokesperson of Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal wrote on X, “We are shocked and saddened on the terrible bombings in the Kerman City of Iran. At this difficult time, we express our solidarity with the government and people of Iran.”


"Terrorists remotely detonated two explosive devices that were strategically placed along the path to the Martyrs' Cemetery in Kerman," revealed an anonymous official to the state-run news agency, IRNA.

Jaiswal conveyed, "Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims and with the wounded."
