Sonam Wangchuk Attended Dawn Event In Pakistan, Also Visited Bangladesh: Ladakh DGP

Ladakh Director General of Police (DGP) SD Sinah Jamwal, on Saturday (27 September) said that investigation is underway over climate activist Sonam Wangchuk's links with Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Addressing a press conference in Leh, DGP Jamwal said, “We arrested a Pakistan PIO in the recent past who was reporting back across. We have a record of this. Sonam Wangchuk had attended a Dawn event in Pakistan. He also visited Bangladesh. So, there is a big question mark on him...investigation is being done," reported news agency ANI.
He further accused Wangchuk of instigating the 24 September violence in Leh.
“Sonam Wangchuk has had a history of instigating. He has referred to the Arab Spring, Nepal and Bangladesh. The investigation into his funding is going on for FRA violation,” Jamwal said.
When asked about foreign involvement, he added, “During the investigation, two more people were caught. If they are part of some design, I cannot say. This place has a history of Nepalese people working as labourers, so we will have to investigate.”
“An unfortunate incident occurred on 24 September. Four lives were lost, and a large number of civilians, police officers and paramilitary officers were injured…there is a question mark on their credibility as well," he added.
Wangchuk, detained under the National Security Act, was taken to Jodhpur Central Jail after his arrest in Ladakh following violent protests that included the burning of a BJP office. Four people were killed in the protest while many others including civilians, police and paramilitary personnel were injured.
