Alignment of HUDA City Centre-Cyber City Corridor (MetroRailGuy)
The pending plan to finalise the terminal station of the Gurgaon Metro at Cyber City remains unresolved, with state agencies unable to agree on the location of the proposed Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) stop, according to a Times of India report.
The uncertainty is stalling the metro alignment, a key step before construction can move ahead.
A high-powered committee (HPC) chaired by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi met on Wednesday (17 September), but no consensus was reached.
The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has insisted that the station can be set up at Shankar Chowk, offering to shift entry and exit points slightly.
However, the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) continues to object, raising concerns of severe traffic disruptions in the area.
"Until the location of the RRTS station is finalised, we cannot freeze our terminal station. There is continuous deliberation on the matter and we are hoping some consensus will be achieved soon," a senior GMRL official was quoted as saying by ToI.
A traffic impact study is currently being carried out by NCRTC.
Meanwhile, the committee also reviewed land requirements for Phase-2 of the metro corridor.
The Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) has agreed to temporarily allot 10 hectares in the Sector 10 auto market for a casting yard, though the site needs to be cleared of legacy construction and demolition waste by 31 October.
Separately, Haryana minister Rao Narbir Singh has written to Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, urging that the Sector 9–Cyber City stretch be built underground, citing dense population and the need to preserve green cover.
