Governor R N Ravi and Chief Minister M K Stalin.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin today (9 June) said that his government is consulting legal experts to go to court against Governor RN Ravi for delay in giving assent to Bills passed by the State Assembly.
The Assembly had earlier passed a resolution calling upon the President and the Centre to fix a certain time limit for Governors to decide upon a Bill.
In April, the Supreme Court had asked Governors to decide upon Bills as soon as possible while hearing a case filed by the Telangana government on the same issue.
Further, he said that the issue could be resolved by making the Chief Minister as the Chancellor of state universities.
