Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi on Monday (6 January) left the state Assembly without delivering his customary address to the Assembly.

Ravi left the assembly as National Anthem was not played after the Tamil Thai Vazhthu.

He reportedly insisted the National Anthem be played, but that did not happen.

"The Constitution of Bharat and the National Anthem were once again insulted in the Tamil Nadu Assembly today," the Tamil Nadu Raj Bhavan said in a statement on X.

"It is a matter of grave concern. Not to be a party to such brazen disrespect to the Constitution and the National Anthem, Governor in deep anguish left the House," the statement added.

After Ravi left the Assembly, the Governor’s speech was then read by Speaker M Appavu, The Hindu reported.
