The Indian cricket team, led by captain Rohit Sharma, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi, for breakfast on Thursday (4 July).
The T20 World Cup-winning team arrived at Number 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, official residence of the Prime Minister, at 11 am, and were warmly received by the Prime Minister.
During the hour-long meeting, PM Modi congratulated the team and urged them to continue their winning streak, expressing confidence that the T20 World Cup victory in Barbados would inspire future successes, according to an India Today report.
The players, along with the support staff, had departed from ITC Maurya, where they were greeted with a rousing reception after arrival from the airport, to PM Modi's residence.
Following the breakfast, the Indian team left the Prime Minister's residence and headed to the New Delhi airport to catch their flight to Mumbai for an open-top bus parade.
The Indian team defeated South Africa in the final on Saturday (29 June) at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.
