<p>The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached the properties of a Kashmiri businessman in J&K's Kupwara district in connection with a terror funding case.<br><br>A team from the NIA reportedly attached the immovable assets in the name of Zahoor Ahmad Shah Watali at villages Baghatpora and Kachwari in Handwara area of the north Kashmir district.<br><br>According to officials <a href="https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/nia-attaches-kashmiri-businessman-watalis-properties-in-terror-funding-case/article66959827.ece">cited</a> by news agency <em>PTI</em>, the properties include land belonging to Watali, an accused in the terror funding case.<br><br>The properties in question were reportedly attached following an order issued in May by the Special NIA Court in New Delhi.<br><br>In 2017, Watali was arrested by the NIA under various sections of the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).<br><br>In May last year, a trial court framed charges against Watali and other individuals in a case related to alleged terrorism and secessionist activities in J&K in 2017.<br><br>Due to his medical condition, Watali was moved out from prison and placed under house arrest in February last year.</p>
