Three individuals, including a woman, were arrested on Sunday for attempting to cheat during the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) examination in Kochi. The arrested were identified as Ankit Kumar (26) and Angad Kumar (25), both from Lodipur, Bihar, and Prattiba Jaisri (27) from Madurai, Tamil Nadu.
The incident occurred at SRV Higher Secondary School in Ernakulam, where Ankit was writing the exam. Despite clearing security checks, including a metal detector, without raising suspicion, his behaviour during the exam aroused doubts. A vigilant invigilator conducted a secondary check and found a concealed communication device resembling a walkie-talkie.
Police said further investigation is underway to determine whether the accused were part of a larger cheating network.
