Three more Congress MPs including DK Suresh, Nakul Nath and Deepak Baij were suspended from the Lok Sabha on Thursday (21 December) after the Lower House passed Chief Election Commissioner and Other Election Commissioners (Appointment, Conditions of Service, and Term of Office) Bill 2023.

Chhindwara MP Nakul Nath is the son of former Madhya Pradesh Congress president Kamal Nath, while Deepak Baij is currently serving as president of Chhattisgarh Congress. Both states had assembly elections recently, where Congress faced defeat.

The series of suspensions started on 14 December, a day after the security breach as the opposition started creating chaos in the Parliament demanding statement from the Prime Minister and Home Minister.
