Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced the Centre is working on a detailed plan to make commuting between Delhi and Gurgaon easier, with the focus being on building an elevated corridor from Dhaula Kuan to Manesar, TOI reported.

Gadkari made the announcement at a high-level meeting with Minister of State Rao Inderjit Singh on Monday (7 April), where he also presented timelines and targets for other major infrastructure projects in the area.

The Highways Ministry has ordered a detailed feasibility study for these new flyovers and tunnel routes with officials to file reports within three months.

To tackle chronic delays, Gadkari set strict deadlines for the Gurgaon-Pataudi-Rewari national highway and the Manesar elevated road. New contractors will be hired through new tenders by 15 April, he said, with work to begin in June.

Regarding the long-pending demand for shifting the Kherki Daula toll plaza, Rao Inderjit Singh again brought up the matter. Gadkari, according to sources, assured him that the toll will be relocated to Pachgaon where the Haryana government has already identified land.

Among other projects on the agenda were a Rs 400 crore four-lane road from Nuh to the Firozpur-Jhirka border, improvements to underpasses and foot overbridges at Rathiwas and Salawas junctions, and widening activities along the Masani barrage stretch in Dharuhera.
