Trinamool Congress To Boycott Three Channels Over 'Anti-Bengal Propaganda'; ABP Ananda, Republic And TV9 In List

The ruling party of West Bengal, Trinamool Congress (TMC) announced on Sunday (1 September) night that it would not be sending its spokespersons to three media channels.

ABP Ananda, Republic and TV9 Network are included in the TMC's boycott list for their "anti-Bengal agenda-driven propaganda" and their "compulsion to appease the zamindars of Delhi."

This comes after the ruling Mamata Banerjee government has been under fire over the Kolkata trainee doctor's rape and murder where the Bengal police are accused of lapses and the government tried to suppress protests.

"The people of Bengal have consistently rejected this unholy BANGLA BIRODHI NEXUS and have always chosen TRUTH over PROPAGANDA," the TMC concluded.

This decision follows a recent heated exchange between senior TMC leader and MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar and BJP MLA Agnimitra Paul during a debate on ABP Ananda.

During the debate, Dastidar referred to Paul, a prominent fashion designer, as a "saree maker," to which Paul proudly affirmed her profession. The BJP MLA also accused the Mamata Banerjee government of sheltering criminals.
