Amid speculation over a possible alliance between Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) ahead of the 2026 Assembly election, TVK has ruled out any such tie-up, even if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stays out of the coalition.

As per a report by The Hindu, TVK General Secretary (propaganda and policy) K G Arunraj told that the party is not considering an alliance with the AIADMK under any circumstances.

“The people of Tamil Nadu are disillusioned with both the DMK and the AIADMK and are looking for a meaningful and credible alternative,” Arunraj said.

Regarding the recent revival of the AIADMK-BJP alliance in April 2024, he claimed that there was little enthusiasm among party workers, who viewed the partnership as “forced”.

He criticised the DMK government for lacking long-term vision and said public dissatisfaction was rising.

TVK sources revealed to The Hindu that the party recently completed a state-wide survey to assess its strength and public perception. They described the results as “encouraging” and expect momentum to build once party president Vijay begins his statewide tour.
