Two coaches of the Indore-Jabalpur Express derailed on Saturday (7 September) while the train was approaching the Jabalpur station in Madhya Pradesh.

No passengers were injured in the incident, which occurred around 5.40 am.

The Indian Railways has started restoration work at the site, and a committee has been formed to investigate the derailment.

Jabalpur station falls under the jurisdiction of the West Central Railway (WCR) zone.

However, no passengers were harmed in the incident.

All the passengers disembarked safely, and train traffic on nearby tracks was halted for about 30 minutes.

A multi-department inquiry has been launched to look into the reasons behind the derailment. While platform six is closed for operations, the overall impact on rail traffic has been minimal.
