“Unapologetic Hindu”: Pawan Kalyan Says Laddu Adulteration 'Tip Of Iceberg', Pushes For National Legislation To Safeguard Sanatana Dharma

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Thursday (3 October) addressed a rally in Tirupati, raising concerns about the purported adulteration of the famed Tirupati laddu prasadam.

While not directly accusing YSRCP leader and former Andhra CM Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, Kalyan pointed out that the issue stems from the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) board set up during the previous government.

"Laddu prasadam adulteration is a tip of the iceberg. We don't know how many crores of rupees they collected during the tenure of (the last) five years. That has to be investigated," Kalyan said, Times of India reported.

Kalyan further urged the judiciary to take into account the various charges, including corruption allegations, against Jagan Mohan Reddy before ruling on the laddu adulteration case.

The Deputy Chief Minister also responded to claims from CM Chandrababu Naidu regarding the use of adulterated ghee in the preparation of laddus.

Kalyan said, "The TDP chief was sharing with MLAs and MPs what exactly had happened, citing a 'fact'."

He advocated for national legislation to safeguard Sanatana Dharma, proposing the creation of protection boards at both the national and state levels, with sufficient financial backing.

Asserting his commitment to the cause, Kalyan said, "To all pseudo secularists, I will make my stand clear to you today, I am an unapologetic Hindu."

"Sanatana Dharma is going to stay here. People like you might come and go, but Sanatana Dharma goes on forever. It would not stop. It is beyond," he added.

Kalyan was on a three-day trip to Tirumala, part of an 11-day penance aimed at seeking divine intervention over the alleged adulteration.

On Wednesday, he performed prayers at the Tirumala temple.
